In a sense, it’s a paradox because you can’t control your thoughts themselves as they are only the result of your beliefs and subconscious emotional charges. However, if you can get rid of these emotional charges and adopt new beliefs, while simultaneously disarming the old ones, you have effectively reshaped your consciousness and hence, changed your thoughts at a fundamental level.
