5 Simple Techniques For Clearing the Third Chakra

HJ: The third Chakra is the gateway to higher consciousness as it is the final and most powerful of the lower three Chakras.  Most people incarnated at this time have many issues around the 3rd Chakra which typically manifests as digestive related disorders in the physical realm.  On a mental level, this correlates to conflicts/issues around power, control, self-esteem, trust, achievement and so on.  The Solar Plexus Chakra is a major power center in our body and it must be transmuted and balanced in order to access and fully embrace our higher spiritual nature which is fed from the energies of the 4th/heart Chakra and higher.

Humanity is operating very much at 3rd Chakra from a collective consciousness stand point.  We are still struggling with issues of power, control and domination in many respects and these are the final lessons we must learn before moving into higher level spiritual realities that more succinctly reflect our true higher nature.  Indeed many are already at this advanced level and are carrying much of the forward momentum for humanity and the planet at the moment.  Their higher energies are still balanced by the denser lower energies of the vast majority, making progress steady but slow.  This is changing, one soul at a time.  Herein lies the key — that one is inherently only responsible for their own progress and so in order to collectively raise our vibration we must begin by healing ourselves.  These 5 powerful techniques to clear and balance the 3rd Chakra are offered to help you begin and/or finish the work you still have left to do there, if any.

5 Ways to Clear the Third Chakra

By Lakshmi Light | Spirit Voyage

Power. Self-esteem. Gut instincts. Action. Heat.  These words all pertain to the third chakra, which is located below the diaphragm in the solar plexus. This chakra is known as the Power Center and physically governs digestion.

Here are five ways to clear the third chakra:

1) Kundalini Yoga for the Third Chakra

Sufi grinds bring space and balance to the third chakra and aid digestion. Simply sit cross-legged on your yoga mat or sheep skin.  Hold onto your knees and begin to rotate the navel in clockwise circles for 1-3 minutes. Then switch directions for 1-3 minutes.  Exaggerate the circles as much as you can by stretching the body as far as feels comfortable in each direction. Then you will feel the full effect of this solar plexus exercise.

2) Pranayama: Breath of Fire

One of the most simple, quick and empowering yoga techniques I know is Breath of Fire.  Even 30 seconds to a minute of rapid breathing through the nose gathers your energy and brings balance to the third chakra. Each quick inhale and exhale creates a natural massage for the intestines.

Sit with your legs crossed.  Rest your hands comfortably in your lap. Begin quick breathing in and out through your nose. Place equal emphasis on the inhale and the exhale. Relax the stomach muscles and let your breath naturally move your stomach in and out. Start out with 30 seconds of breath of fire if you are new to this technique. Increase the speed, force and duration of this exercise as you get more comfortable with the Breath of Fire.

(Note: Breath of Fire is powered through the navel, not the lungs.  To learn how to do it, stick out your tongue and pant like a dog.  Then put your tongue back  in your mouth, shut your mouth, and breath forcefully through the nose.)

3) Sun Meditation

Research has told us that regular doses of sunlight stabilizes the immune system, strengthens teeth and bones, helps lower cholesterol, and help slow down the aging process, thanks to Vitamin D. It also stimulates the production of serotonin, which helps to fight depression.  The pineal gland, which produces melatonin, the chemical that helps us sleep, is also stimulated by the sun.
The sun is an energy source which is unparalleled in our solar system. We absorb its power and healing every day. Meditate on the power of the sun today. Visualize your own sun glowing brightly in your solar plexus for 3-5 minutes. If you are feeling disempowered or tired, you will surely notice an improvement. Let sunlight hit your skin directly if possible while you do this mediation.

4) Herbs and Essential Oils for the 3rd Chakra

Our digestive system transforms our food into fuel, which powers our body. Ginger and peppermint are both potent digestive tonics. Ginger can speed up sluggish digestion, and peppermint is good for the overly full stomach. They can both be used for upset stomachs.

For a third chakra/ digestive massage, mix one drop of ginger oil and one drop peppermint oil with a tablespoon of massage oil or lotion. Lay flat on a comfortable surface. Massage your stomach with this combination. Start with large, sweeping circular strokes and then move into smaller circles, working from the outside of the abdomen in towards the navel.

Ginger root is an excellent food to add to your cooking to bring energy to the third chakra. You might try it sautéed with onions and garlic in your next stir fry. Peppermint leaves can be steeped in hot water as tea, chopped and put into a pitcher of water for a refreshing drink, or simply be chewed.

5) Mantra
A mantra that helps with third chakra healing is Ek Ong Kar. It can be translated to mean “the Creator Created Creation” or “The Creator and the Creation are One” and it can help bring about the realization that the creator and the creation are one. In this week’s yoga, meditation and nutrition for the third chakra, begin to get in touch with your own power to create. Repeat Ek Ong Kar silently to yourself  and contemplate its meaning.
