The chef, who goes under the pseudonym Kenji Fujimoto, was invited to Pyongyang by Kim Jong-un. He met the North Korean leader and his wife, and gave them a gift of blue fin tuna from Japan, where he lives.
Fujimoto was Kim Jong-il’s personal chef from 1989 to 2001 and published several books about his experiences after fleeing the Stalinist country
Fujimoto says Kim Jong-un has no bad feelings towards him and greeted him with “long time no see”, Japan’s Kyodo News reported. He described Kim`s wife Ri Sol-Ju as “charming”.
Fujimoto says Kim may reform North Korean on the lines of China`s system of Market Socialism.
“When I go to Europe or Japan, I see overflowing products and food, but when I return to the North, there is nothing,” he quoted Kim Jong-un as saying. “Do we need to study China’s policies?”
