How to Use Your Mind to Move Energy — The Simple Way

HJ: Mind energy is like any skill — use it or lose it.  Since most of us do not consciously use our minds to move energy, we have lost touch with the ability to do so.  However, that does not mean it is impossible, as many rationalists would have you believe.  It simply requires you practice diligently with some expert guidance, which this article offers, leaving it up to you to practice diligently.

We’ve all heard it before:  Practicing meditation offers countless mental, emotional, and physical benefits. You may have dabbled into meditation yourself, but found it next to impossible to dip into that sweet “no thought” spot and given up. The good news is that it really is simple, and after thirty years of teaching meditation, I am certain that anyone can do it.

What’s my meditation secret? Learn how to feel energy. If you hold two magnets, one in each hand, and practice feeling the magnetic energy by pulling and pushing the magnets, it will not only awaken your sense of energy, but it will also bring you completely into the present moment and calm your thoughts, even if you are an experienced meditator.

Health Can Be Measured by Bio-magnetic Fields

Understanding bio-magnetic fields is the first step to sensitizing yourself to the sense of energy. Our bodies, our planet, every living organism has a bio-magnetic field. Within this field we find the very essence of life. These fields, though they may be subtle, encapsulate your every cell and surround your body with a protective shield.  This field may not be apparent to the naked eye, but they can be felt. If you want to test it out, try clapping your hands ten times, place your palms about a half of an inch apart, close your eyes, and focus on your palms; you will feel warmth, a magnetic draw, or a tingling sensation.

Since this field is generated by your body’s natural electromagnetic activity, it is in constant flux, shifting as your thoughts, emotions, and environmental stimulus change. If there is a disturbance in your field, you may experience negative emotions. On the flip side, if you are having negative emotions, it will affect your field. Because your thoughts and emotions move in tandem with your energy field, unconscious thoughts or emotions can snowball into a disastrous deluge of negativity.  However, when you develop your sensitivity to energy, you will have the ability to regulate your energy state moment-to-moment and maintain a positive and healthy emotional state. Since magnets have a concentrated magnetic field, using magnets to sensitize yourself to energy is the fastest, most effective method for waking up this heightened sense.

The Importance of Moving Energy

Developing a finer sensitivity to energy will help you identify the subtle nuances of what affects your energy field. Just as a wine connoisseur has developed their palate to identify the factors that most influence the flavor such as: the vine, the soil, the oak, etc., so can you develop your senses to feel the varying textures and grades of consciousness that create energy. With this heightened awareness you can consciously change your energy and deter physical and mental problems before they become evident.

Some people have a natural ability to feel energy, but if you don’t, it can be acquired as a skill.  Once this sense is developed you will be able to control, harness, and move your energy to create a positive state regardless of your circumstances, because if you can feel energy, you can change it 

Magnetics for the Body and the Mind

Magnets have been used in healing practices around the globe, especially in China and India, for millennia. The reason that it has become a popular tool is because through magnetic stimulation you can move energy through the body’s energy pathways, increasing circulation and releasing blockages. It’s not surprising, then, that using magnets in meditation can also help increase awareness of the bio-magnetic field and stimulate a change in energy. In fact, magnets can repair damages in your body’s magnetic field merely through resonance.

Magnetic Meditation: The Fast Track to Awareness

Most people find that within just a few minutes of Magnetic Meditation brain waves drop into an alpha state, concentration increases, and emotions calm—creating the perfect internal environment to reach deeper levels of meditation. The best approach to Magnetic Meditation is to focus on the energy sensations of your body, rather than the magnets themselves. During the movements specified in the exercises below try to concentrate on the energy that is being generated by the movement. As you practice this technique you will find that your ability to concentrate will increase, lending the expertise to drop into meditative states more easily in the future. Since meditation is a practice used for focusing on the present, concentrating on the energy created by the movement of the magnets forces your mind to be present. You can’t pick up the feeling of the magnetism in the past or the future. That is why this meditation is so effective, because feeling the energy in the moment becomes the meditation.

Below you will find a few particular Magnetic Meditation techniques that I developed to awaken your energy sense and adjust the balance of energy in your field. There is no wrong way to do this meditation . . . so experiment and explore, but most of all have fun!

Sample Magnetic Meditation Exercise 

  1. Holding a magnet in each hand a few inches apart from each other in front of your chest, straighten your spine and relax your shoulders. If you are sitting or lying down, make sure your legs are uncrossed so that your energy can freely circulate in your body. Breathing in, separate the magnets from each other. Then when you exhale, bring them closer together without letting them touch. Focus on the magnetic sensation. You can orient the magnets so they repel each other, and then adjust them so they attract each other.
  2. Next, rotate the magnets around each other in small circles in front of your chest. Focus on the push and pull of the magnets as they attract and repel each other at different points of the circle. Breathe according to your own natural rhythm, opening your mouth slightly when you exhale to expel old, stagnant energy that may be stirred up as a result of the meditation.
  3. Perform this rotation a couple of inches in front of your body and two inches below your navel for a few minutes, and then again a couple of inches in front of your forehead. Your chest, lower abdomen, and head are locations of major energy centers in your body. Using magnets around these areas will help to clear and balance the energy there.
  4. Smooth the magnets along your entire body while holding them a little above it to keep your bio-magnetic field strong and intact.
  5. Spend a few minutes breathing quietly and naturally while observing the state of your body and mind without attachment or analysis.
