HJ: The I Ching is widely considered to be one of the most profound books of wisdom ever created in the history of mankind. It’s roots and source are as mysterious as the means by which it continually evolves to this day. Like a fractal, new patterns and aspects are discovered as its study continues, revealing further depth and wisdom that had been previously unacknowledged. Typically, the seeker uses the I Ching as a form of divination, metaphorically similar to the Tarot, where a question is asked/presented to which one then consults the I Ching for an answer. There a few ways to do so, but essentially the process is random, meaning that methods such as coin flipping are typically used to determine which passage is consulted. However, frequent readers of this site and other high-level metaphysical and spiritual will know that indeed there are no coincidences or random occurrences — everything that happens in this universe has meaning and purpose. From that, view point, the use of the I Ching or Tarot takes on a whole new meaning (as does everything else) far beyond their original profound nature.
The I Ching is a fascinating study, which this article greatly facilitates.
