HJ: We all face challenges at various points in our life, but like anything, it’s not the challenge itself, but how you perceive it and go about dealing with it that makes all the difference in how easy it is (or isn’t) to overcome it.
Most people get stuck feeling frustrated and fearful when they face hard times. These situations trigger our unhealed parts of ourselves — our self-doubt, anxiety, hidden fears, worry, feelings of inadequacy, which make us feel defeated, hopeless and lost. However, if you look at what I just described, you’ll see the that the challenge itself did not contain all these things — you did. The challenge is neutral, it is how we react to it that gives it its power over us (or lack thereof). Our challenges simply mirror back to us our current state of mind and our emotional patterns. They give us an opportunity to look within, grow and ultimately change into the person we want to become if we see them as the opportunities that they are.
When life is easy and challenge-free we tend to fall into a lull and rarely do all but the most committed look within themselves to continue healing growing and changing. We tend to ‘coast’ when things are calm and pleasant and our growth levels off. However, challenges, hard times, ‘failures’, etc. cause to enter a period of accelerated growth and introspection — if we have trained ourselves to see them as such — opportunities in disguise. This perspective is seeing the situation from a spiritual perspective and it changes everything.
It makes cataclysms seem like a gift, it makes even the most grim hardships have a silver lining and its a perspective shift that we all need in order to truly understand what is happening to us in life and why.
The wonderful article below contains 10 of these deep spiritual perspective shifts that will help you reframe what you are experiencing in a way that allows for maximum peace, happiness, growth, ease and understanding.
